Mrs. Bessie Cole, 94, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 6:50am, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Friendship Manor, St. Elmo, IL.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday,February 13, 2013 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45am, Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mrs. Cole was born September 27, 19481 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Charles W. and Grace (Ray) Oldham. She married Harold S. Cole November 28, 1937 in Vandalia. She retired from John Crane Inc.

She is survived by her daughter Helen "Jean" Bumgarner and husband Henry of LaSalle, IL; grandchildren: Perry Bumgarner and Cindy Bumgarner; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Shirley Harris, brothers Herschel, Leo, Orville, Charles, Herbert Oldham, and 2 infant brothers.
