Rev. Robert William “Bob” Carter Jr., 84, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 7:54 PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 4, 2020 at The Read Obituary
Juanita, Angela, Eric and families ... My heartfelt condolences on the loss of Bob. I was honored to have known him and the entire Carter family. His life was a wonderful testimony and he will be missed by all that were privileged to have met him. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am grateful for the life and ministry of Rev. Bob Carter, and for the many churches that he served both here in Illinois and elsewhere, and both as a pastor and as a Director of Missions for multiple churches. Bob was always gracious and encouraging to me personally, and I admired him as a loving pastor and servant leader. I know he will be missed by his family and his many friends. The Baptist family of churches here in Illinois offers our condolences to Bob's wife and family, and our deep gratitude for his many years of faithful and effective service.

Bob was the essence of what it meant to be a Christian. He was a great friend to my wife and I always the encourager. Received wonderful counsel from when I was a young preacher boy. May the Lord comfort his wonderful wife and family as only He can.

I am so sorry for this loss. I found him to be one of the most respectful people, kind, such a servant heart, wonderful teacher of the word of God. He along with his wife Juanita, raised two wonderful children. I thank God so much for knowing him and his family.
The Neeley family has great, warm memories of Bob. He was truly a good, Godly man. My parents and the Carters were dear friends for many, many years. My heart and prayers go out to the family. I know how hard this is. I am so thankful that Mom, Barry and I got to see and visit with Bob and Juanita in Vandalia last year. And now Bob and Dad can catch up again in Heaven!

Don't know that I ever knew a man who was anymore kind and gentle than Bob Carter. He was always so kind to me and always believed in me. I know this is a terrible loss for the family, but a great victory for Bob. He is finally reaping his rewards, for the job well done here on this earth. I will be lifting the family up in prayers!

He was the most kind and mannerly person. we have ever known. He always had such a kind caring heart and he always knew what to say in such a kind way.
Bob and Juanita were such a special couple and it was a blessing from God to know them both and to get to work with them the ministry.
Bob was the director of missions at Rehobeth association when we came to pastor Taylor Springs Baptist church and i thought it was special that his last interim pastorship was at Mullberry Baptist Church where our daughter and her family goes to church .
He will be greatly missed.
