Lewis D. “Cy” Locke, 96, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 10:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2022 surrounded by his family. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vandalia with Pastor Brad Frye officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with military rites accorded by Brownstown VFW Post #9770 & Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95. Visitation will be held from 4:30-7:00PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, and one hour prior to services at the church. Masonic Rites will be held at 4:30PM Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com Lewis D. “Cy” Locke was born on April 11, 1925 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Alda Otho and Florence Belle (Feller) Locke. He married Cecelia Lorene Hulskotter on April 12, 1947; together they had four children and celebrated 71 years of marriage before her passing on October 6, 2018. Cy retired from Exxon as a senior accounting administrator; he served in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia VFW Post #3862, Masonic Temperance Lodge #16, AINAD Shriners Temple, Scottish Rite Masonic Bodies- Valley of Southern Illinois, Old National Trail Shrine Club, and Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447. Mr. Locke is survived by sons, Lewis D. “Chip” Locke Jr. of Baytown, TX and Leslie K. “Les” Locke of Baytown, TX; daughter, Lynette K. and husband, David R. White of Vandalia; grandchildren, John Locke and wife Eva, Morgan Locke and husband Eduardo, David White II, Jeremy White and wife Nicole, Courtney White, Julian White, and Stacy White.; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Eleonora, Zackery, Hayley, Davin, Leif, Marlee, and Zavier; step-great-grandchildren, Dez, Destinee, and Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Linda Jo Locke; brothers, Emmett Locke, Harold Locke, James Locke, Robert Locke, and William Locke; sisters, Florence Locke, Iris Locke, and Shirley Locke
