Cynthia "Cindi" Schilling

April 7, 1952 - July 26, 2020

Cynthia Mae “Cindi” Schilling, 68, of Brownstown, IL passed away at 4:56 AM, Sunday, July 26, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Per Cindi’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Vandalia Shrine Club with Michelle Smith-Blanton officiating. Friends and family are welcome to arrive at 4:30pm. A catered meal will be provided at 6:30pm following the service, you are welcome to bring a side dish if you wish. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Cynthia Mae Schilling was born on April 07, 1952 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Charles Edward and Ruby (Oldham) Schilling. Cindi retired from Crane Packing after 40 years of employment. She loved having fun, jeep riding, grilling out, and most of all, spending time with her many friends and family. Cindi was a charter member of the Women of the Moose, Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447; member of Shoal Creek A.B.A.T.E.; and member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union. She is survived by her partner of 8 years, Paula Kious of Brownstown; sister, Leeann and husband Mark Sarchet of St. Peter; nephew, CJ Schilling and wife Jessika of Vandalia; nieces, Sarah Sarchet of Vandalia and Haley Sarchet of St. Peter; great niece and nephews, Avalynn and Cooper Schilling and Gabriel, River, and Caleb Sarchet, all of Vandalia; Paula’s sons, Trevor Kious and wife Audra of Vandalia and Jared Kious of Springfield; and her special buddies, Paula’s grandchildren, Rory and Landon Kious of Vandalia. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Edward Schilling II; niece, Amanda Sarchet; and her beloved dog Josie.
