Daisy June Hipsher, 68, of Brownstown, IL, passed away at 11:15 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 04, 2022 at the First Christian Church, Brownstown with Pastor Nathan Brands officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 AM, Friday, February 04, 2022 at the church. Per Daisy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral. Memorials may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Fund or to Hohlt & File Funeral Home to aide with expenses. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com Daisy June Ludens was born on September 26, 1953 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Matthew Raymond and Mae Evelyn (Tammen) Ludens. She married Leslie Allen Hipsher on April 22, 1972; together they celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage and raised three children. Daisy worked various jobs throughout the years; she was employed by Graham Packaging Co., Vandalia, Bonnie Plants, St. Elmo, and most recently the Holiday Inn Express, Vandalia. She enjoyed soap operas, crocheting, cross word puzzles, BINGO, and vacationing to the beach. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. Daisy was a member of the First Christian Church of Brownstown and was a board member for the Fayette County Cancer Fund. Mrs. Hipsher is survived by her husband, Leslie Hipsher of Brownstown; mother, Mae Ludens of Rochelle; daughter, Kristi Utley of Lennox, SD; son, Jason Hipsher and wife Kelly of Vandalia; daughter, Tiffany Hipsher of Brownstown; brother, David Ludens and wife Sherri of Dixon; and grandchildren, Amber and husband Jake Rakers, Nathaniel Utley, Matthew Utley, Blake Hipsher, Dathan Hipsher, Landon Hipsher, Cameron Kirby, Sophia Kirby, and Meadow Kirby. Preceded in death by her father, Matthew R. Ludens; in-laws, William and Marie Hipsher; and son-in-law, David Utley.
