Evelyn Erva Miller, 84, of Altamont, IL passed away at 7:10 AM, Thursday, October 07, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham. In accordance with Evelyn’s wishes, a Private Family Graveside Service and Interment will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery, St. Peter, IL with Pastor Ryan Meyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of the donor’s choosing. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com Evelyn Erva Maske was born on September 17, 1937 in Wilberton Twp., Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Erwin H. and Renata M. (Buth) Maske. Evelyn worked various jobs throughout the years. She started as a homemaker; raising her children. After that, she became the store manager at the Model Clothing Department in Vandalia, followed by employment through the United States Postal Service where she was a clerk at the St. Peter Post Office. She was later employed by Doris Collectables in St. Peter, as a receptionist at Russ Braunecker Auto Group in Effingham, and also as a receptionist for Tate Flying Service at the Effingham Airport; where she took pilot training and soloed. In addition to these many hats that Evelyn wore, she was an Expert Florist; owning and operating her own business known as, Evie’s Floral. She was an avid pet lover and member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she was very involved in Sunday School and was the bookkeeper at one time. Ms. Miller is survived by her daughter, Lisa and husband David Wasmuth of Augsburg; sons, Scott Miller of St. Peter and Chris Miller and wife Jane of St. Peter; bonus son, Steve Rubin of Effingham; sisters, Janice Maske of Salem and Nancy and husband Mike Weber of Union, KY; grandchildren, Staci Magnus Jahraus, Shannon Magnus, Ashli Wasmuth Fenton, Lauren Wasmuth, Sydney Miller Lieb and husband Owen, Collin Miller, and Sean O’Leary; and great-grandchildren, Aidan, Avery, Alec, Jase, Paityn, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, M. Craig Miller.
