November 10, 1938 - January 17, 2022

Roberta Louise Gannon, 83, of Brownstown, IL, passed away at 12:03 PM, Monday, January 17, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family. In accordance with the wishes of they family, cremation rites will take place. Please join us in celebrating the life of Roberta L. Gannon. Services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1005 Cedar Drive, Wood River, IL. Friends are welcome from 12PM-2PM. After 2PM is reserved for a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family to aide with funeral expenses. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com. Roberta Louise Stauffer was born on November 10, 1938 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Christopher Robert and Beatrice L. (Eaves) Stauffer. She married Larry Dean Gannon Sr. in 1960; together they celebrated over 30 years of marriage before his passing on January 23, 1992. Mrs. Gannon worked various jobs throughout the years; she worked in the deli at Park N Shop, Godfrey and was employed as a legal secretary by Armbruster & Diaz Law Firm. Roberta was proud to be a 24-year breast cancer survivor; attending numerous Relay for Life and Breast Cancer events. In her early years she was on a bowling league and more recently enjoyed reading romance novels, gardening, watching TV, playing BINGO and Bunco, and of course playing video games with her grandchildren. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Roberta was a former member of the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club, where she was a past president of the ladies auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Tabbie Eckelberry of Brownstown; son, Larry Gannon Jr. of Alton; brother, Harold Stauffer and wife, Betty of Wood River; sisters, Beverly and husband, Richard Conger of FL and Joyce Stilwell of TN; grandchildren, Riana Whitehead of Vandalia, Aaron Burns and wife, Kristen of Wood River, and Trey Gannon of Brownstown; and great-grandchildren, Dalton Blankenship, Jadalyn Whitehead, Addison Burns, Jace Burns, Cameron Orban, and Cade Burns. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Charlie Stauffer; sister, Betty Simpson; grandson, Evan Burns and brother-in-law, Ronald Stilwell.
