When I was a little kid growing up, Charlie had a country & western band called Charlie Washburn & the Stump Jumpers. They played at a lot of charity events in & around the Vandalia area, & I had the privilege of singing with his group. Charlie was a big man with a big personality. He always had a smile on his face. I'll never forget all the times we were all gathered together singing & having a good time. Rest in peace Charlie. You are missed.
