When I and Sonia were young, we always played in a shed that our grandparents had let us make into a playhouse. Once in the 1960's there was a huge rainstorm and it flooded the barn yard and around where the animals were kept. I got permission from my mom to go play with Sonia. Sonia and I made our way to the playhouse. Of course all that water was calling our names. BUT, my mom said I wasn't allowed to go play in that water and not allowed to get wet. Sonia and I decided to put on old play dresses (which probably belonged to my grandma) and took off our shoes and we were ready to get wet. That is just what we did. As an adult, I am thinking we were out there in the water with the animal waste, floating corn cobs and who knows what else. Nasty! When we were finished we went back into the playhouse and put on our clothes and hung out. Then we got hungry...we had made a little square out of bricks for our stove outside the playhouse. One of us built the fire, while the other went into the chicken house and got a couple of eggs and we made scrambled eggs in a play skillet over and open fire. YES, WE ACTUALLY GOT AWAY WITH IT ALL!
