Alan Kenneth Johnson, 43, of Vandalia passed away at his home
Sunday, September 11, 2016.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, September 16,
2016 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home. Visitation will be
held from 1:00-3:00pm prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First National Bank of Vandalia for

Alan was born April 1, 1973 in Sandwich, IL, the son of Ronald
E. Johnson and Karen K. (Limes) Johnson. He graduated from
Morris High School and continued his education at Indiana State
University. He worked as a correctional officer at Graham
Correctional Center in Hillsboro, IL and the Sheridan Correctional
Center in Sheridan, IL. He was the proud father of two
daughters, who were the center of his world. Alan was a kind
hearted soul who made friends with everyone he met. He was an
avid sports fan on and off the field.
Alan is survived by his mother Karen K. (Limes) Johnson of
Morris, IL; father Ronald E. Johnson of Lisbon, IL; daughters
Madison and Lauren Johnson, both of Vandalia; sisters Diane and
husband Sam Espe III of Lake in the Hills, IL and Tammy Taylor of
Morris, IL; and nephews David Taylor, Sam Espe IV and Nick
Espe.
