Alex Cearlock's Obituary
Alexander “Alex” Irvin Lewis Cearlock, 34, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2025, in Phoenix AZ.
Born on November 7, 1990, in Greenville, Illinois, to Dewayne “Wayner” II and Lisa (Probst) Cearlock of Vandalia. Alex had an infectious smile and kind heart that touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He found joy in serving his community, evident in his dedicated service to the Vandalia Volunteer Fire Department from 2014 to 2019. Alex was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He would go above and beyond for anyone in need, no questions asked.
On May 8, 2021, Alex married Amber Bruno, and together they created a loving family, welcoming their cherished children, Grady (3 ½ ) and Stella (2). His family was his greatest source of pride and joy.
Professionally, Alex excelled as a technician at Bill’s Pest Control in Phoenix. Prior to his move to Arizona, he worked for D.C. Pest Control, Michael’s Feed Store and Horner’s sheep farm in Illinois.
Alex leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Amber; his adored children, Grady and Stella; his parents, Dewayne II and Lisa Cearlock; his brother, D.C. Cearlock all of Vandalia; and his sister, Amelia “Amie” Cearlock and her husband, Kevin Majka, of Phoenix, all of whom will forever cherish his memory. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Sonya Bruno and brother-in-law, Arik Bruno, all of Phoenix, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Dewayne and Norma Cearlock, and maternal grandparents, Irvin and Marian Probst, uncles David Cearlock and Ross Kershaw, and aunt Annabelle Hediger.
A Celebration of life will be held from 2:00-5:00PM, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 8th Day Venue located at 1405 Veterans Ave in Vandalia.
