Beatrice Cearlock's Obituary
Beatrice Adele Cearlock, 89, of Vandalia, passed away the evening of March 8, 2024 in the comfort of her home, with family by her side.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00, noon, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Augsburg with Pastor Timothy Landskroener officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00AM-12:00PM at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church. Beatrice Adele Brauer was born May 20, 1934 in St. Peter, IL, the daughter of Cornielus Charles and Minnie Helena (Claus) Brauer. She married William Eugene “Gene” Cearlock on June 2, 1955 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia; together they shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.
Bea was a registered nurse for Doctor Rollinger, Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia School District, and also did private duty nursing.
Bea was a former member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and current member of Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church; she was also a member of the Fayette County Farm Bureau and the Vandalia Quilt Guild. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, quilting, woodworking, crafting, gardening, and canning the produce she raised.
She is survived by sons, John Cearlock and wife Barbara of Vandalia and Jeffery Cearlock and wife Lori of Vandalia; daughters, Jennifer and husband Duane Guerrettaz of Farina and Jacqueline “Jackie” Willis of Vandalia; daughter-in-law, Karen Cearlock of Vandalia; son-in-law, Alan Rothe of Foristell, MO; sister, Elaine and husband Vern Eaton of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Jamie) Cearlock, Colleen (Chris) Cole, Steven Cearlock, Susan (John) LaMonica, Bryan Cearlock, Lucas (Monique) Cearlock, Bradley Cearlock, Paul Rothe, Matthew (Katie) Rothe, Zachary (Sara) Guerrettaz, Calie (Bert) Buckman, Mary Elizabeth Johanna, and Margaret “Maggie” Willis; great-grandchildren, Max & Olivia Cearlock, Josie, Autry & Trace Cole, Autumn & Lauren Cearlock, Bella LaMonica, Chase & Lane Cearlock, Avery & Addie Cearlock, Lillian & Wyatt Cearlock, Michael & Presley Rothe, Mason, Ben, & Beau Guerrettaz, Lydia & Mabel Prince & Charlie Stryhal; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles “Geno” Cearlock; and daughter, Julie Rothe.
