Betty Bell Arnold, 87, of Ramsey, IL passed away at 1:30 AM, Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2019 at Hohlt and File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Hohlt and File Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Betty Bell Arnold was born on November 21, 1931 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of William and Carrie (Brown) Austin. She married Lester “Buck” Arnold on August 06, 1950 in Piggott, Arkansas; he preceded in death on October 23, 2014.
Betty was employed by Atmos Energy, formerly United City Gas Co., for 44 years, she was the owner/operator of Cornerstone Ceramics, and she also sold real estate for GMAC Real Estate. She was a member of the Crawford-Hale American Legion Auxiliary Post # 95 and the Women’s Cameo Club. Betty was an artist and enjoyed painting, quilting, and traveling.
She is survived by son, Toby Arnold and wife Rae of Ramsey; granddaughters, Elizabeth and husband Jasper Washburn and Ashley and husband Devan Matthews; and great grandsons Jaxson Washburn and Sampson Washburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and infant brother, Billy Arnold.
