Bobby Gelsinger's Obituary
Bobby D. Gelsinger, 90, of St. Peter, IL, passed away peacefully at 12:23 AM, Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 01, 2025 at the First Christian Church of Brownstown with Kevin White officiating. Interment will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, at the church. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Bobby Dean Gelsinger was born on August 05, 1934 in Fayette County, IL, the son of James Arthur Gelsinger and Neoma (Carrico) Gelsinger Lancaster. He married the love of his life, Betty June (Craig) on March 28, 1953. Together they had five children and celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage before her passing on August 06, 2002.
Mr. Gelsinger was a retired laborer employed through the Laborers International Union of North America Local #1048, Brownstown. Bobby enjoyed the outdoors and taking rides around the country side on his Kubota. However, his most valued past time was spending every moment he could with his children and grandchildren. His family meant the world to him and he cherished the time they shared.
He will forever be remembered by his son, Randy Gelsinger and wife Sandy of Brownstown; daughter, Vicki and husband Danny Koonce of Brownstown; daughter, Cathy and husband Roy Sasse of St. Peter; daughter, Christy and husband Mark Hebert of Ramsey; daughter, Bobbye and husband Dave Williams of Vandalia; sister, Ilene Kleinik of Mulberry Grove; grandchildren, Kim Frutiger with Justin Smith, Brad Koonce and wife Michelle, Derrick Gelsinger, Carrie and husband Jim Sellers, Mandy and husband Paul Ruholl, Craig Sasse with Serena Everett, Morgan Cook with Justin Buerster, Makayla Cook with Wyatt Marley; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Charles Gelsinger; and brother Junior Gelsinger.
