Brian Garner's Obituary
Brian S. Garner, 49, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 9:34pm,
Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Fayette County Hospital.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00am, Friday, January 9, 2015
at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia with Rev. Fr.
Joseph Havrilka and Rev. Fr. Barry Harmon officiating. Visitation
will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family of Brian Garner. Burial
for Mr. Garner will be held at a later date in Anitoch Cemetery,
Salem, IL.
Brian was born March 26, 1965 in Salem, the son of Marvin and
Virginia (Lee) Garner. Brian was a respiratory therapist at
Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville, St. Elizabeth's Hospital in
Belleville, and a former employee of Salem Wal-Mart. He was a
member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia; Knights of
Columbus Council 4630 Vandalia; Civil War Reenactment Groups
81st IL, 15th AR, and 22nd NC; and
Fayette County and Marion County Genealogical Societies.
Brian is survived by his mother Ginny Garner of Vandalia,
paternal grandmother Faye Garner of Metropolis, IL, uncles, aunts,
and various extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Garner.
