Carol Klitzing's Obituary
Carol L. (Garland) Klitzing, 77, of Vandalia, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 01, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.
Per Carol’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will take place in Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore with a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Carol Louise was born on September 27, 1947, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Jack Lee and Betty Louise (Greer) Garland. Over the years she was employed through multiple service industries ranging from bartending, hotel management to operating mold presses at crane packing, retiring from there after 15 years. She was a member of women of the Moose Lodge, #1447.
Over the years she enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, bowling, playing softball; with those years along came the grandchildren, which earned her the name, Granny.
She will forever be remembered by her son, Robert Eastin of Hot Springs, AR; son, Kenneth Eastin of Vandalia; daughter, Teresa Eastin of Vandalia; sisters, Doris and husband Gary Tate of Vandalia; Judy and husband Aaron Jones of Philo; brother, Gregory Garland and wife Diane of Champaign; sister-in-law, Melody Garland of White Heath; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Ms. Klitzing was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Douglas Garland.
