Carroll "Lee" Evans' Obituary
Carroll "Lee" Evans, 75, of Vandalia, passed away at 4:37am,
Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia, IL.
Services for Mr. Evans will be held at graveside Thursday, June
20, 2013 at 11:00am, at Evans Cemetery, rural Vandalia with Rev.
Pete LeDuc and Rev. Carl Rhodes officiating. A visitation
will be held from 9:00-10:30am, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Hohlt
& File Funeral Home, Vandalia prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the family of Lee Evans.
Carroll "Lee" Evans was born June 12, 1938 in Mulberry Grove,
the son of Leroy "Roy" Evans and Neva (Elam) Miller. He
served in the United States Navy for 20 years and was a Sergeant at
Vandalia Correctional Center. He married Janice (Dotray) Evans on
October 12, 1974 in Vandalia. He was a member of the
Keyesport American Legion Post #1994; Vandalia VFW Post #3862;
Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447; Mason's Temperance Lodge - #16; Old
National Trail Shrine Club; and Vandalia Eagles Lodge #3901.
He is survived by his wife Janice of Vandalia; sons Christopher
Evans and wife Christina of Columbus, OH and Bill Evans and wife
Michelle of St. Charles, MO; daughter Melissa Evans of Vandalia;
step son Robert Evans and wife Brenda of Iowa; sisters Doris Harris
of Chesterfield, MO and Mary and husband Ray Dufaux of Vandalia,
IL; and grandchildren Cole Evans, Madison Evans, William, Dawna,
and Jerry Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
