Cary Gelsinger's Obituary
Cary D. Gelsinger, 55, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 7:27 PM, Wednesday, December 09, 2020 at his home.
In accordance with the wishes of the family, cremation rites will take place. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Pinhook Cemetery, rural Vandalia with Rev. David Arnold officiating. Memorials may be made to the Family.
Cary D. Gelsinger was born on February 26, 1965 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Charles D. Gelsinger Sr. and Wanda M. (Jackson) Gelsinger. He married Jaynie L. M. Oldham on April 20, 2020.
Cary had various jobs over the years. He was a former jailor at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, was employed by Marvin “Tiny” Nichols Asphalt & Vandalia Sand and Gravel, and was also a truck driver for Lach Trucking; enjoying his time spent travelling the country. Cary had an avid love for old classic cars and trucks; he enjoyed collecting fords and working on the many vehicles. In his spare time, he loved playing in pool leagues and spending time with his family and friends. Cary was a former member of the Eagles Lodge #3901, and member of Jaycees; an organization giving back to the local community.
He is survived by his wife, Jaynie Gelsinger of Vandalia; brothers, Charles Gelsinger Jr. and wife Tammy and Johnny Gelsinger and wife Kim, of Vandalia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Alva and Florence Jackson and Bill and Odean Gelsinger
