Charles Eugene "Geno" Cearlock, 60, of Vandalia passed away at 12:58pm, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home in Vandalia. A Funeral Service for Mr. Cearlock will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Augsburg Immanue Read Obituary
We remember when Geno and his brothers would hunt in the sub-impoundment and sometimes Merrell would hunt with them. These were times that we will treasure. Geno was a really great guy and will be missed. We are sorry to hear of his passing.
Our hearts go out to you and your family in this your time of loss. May the words at 1 Peter 5:6,7 bring you comfort . May God grant you all peace and strength in the days ahead.

So sorry for all of Geno's family, it must have been a tough time. I hunted and fished with Geno, Jeff, John and their dad through the years, They were kind enough to invite me to several dove hunts on their property. I am out of town and hate that I am unable to attend. God Bless the Cearlock family and best of wishes during this grieving process.

As a member of the Vandalia Police Department, Geno was very much a part of our lives when we were young and stupid and cruising the main drag. He was always friendly and fair and I don't recall him ever really losing his patience or his temper. He was a good man and a good Police Officer. Godspeed Geno.....I will be keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers.
