Cordelia "DeeDee" White's Obituary
Cordelia "DeeDee" White, 84, of Vandalia, died on Wednesday,
Oct. 23, 2013, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in
Vandalia.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 27,
2013 in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Krista Stokke
and Jay Smith officiating. There is no visitation. Memorials:
Disabled Veterans Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Mrs. White was born on July 24, 1929, in Shobonier, the daughter
of Paul F. and Gertie M. Willett Metzker. She married Clayton L.
White in September 1950 in Springfield; he died in April 1988.
She is survived by her sister Kathryn "Kay" Smith of Chicago, IL
and her seven nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by herparents; husband; brothers
Gerald, Dennis, and Dean Metzker; sister Gertrude Smith.
