Danny White's Obituary
Danny White, 58, of Mulberry Grove, formerly of Vandalia, died
at 6:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012.
Services will beheld at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Bethel Baptist
Church in rural Vandalia, with the Revs. Darryl Bolen and Dan Rush
officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in
VanBurensburg. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday at
the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge
of arrangements. Memorials: First Christian Church of Greenville or
Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. White was born on Oct. 7, 1954, in Vandalia, the son of
Dallas and Dorothy Merriman White. He married Patti Miles on March
15, 1986, at First Christian Church in Vandalia.
He was a retired correctional officer for Vandalia Correctional
Center; a member of First Christian Church of Greenville, Vandalia
Masonic Lodge No. 16 A.F. & A.M. of Vandalia, Old National
Trail Shrine Club in Vandalia, Vandalia Moose Lodge No. 1447; and
social member of Greenville VFW, Vandalia Country Club and
ABATE.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, traveling, golfing,
riding his four-wheeler, mushroom hunting, cooking, karaoke, and
his two beagles and cat, but his greatest love of all was his wife,
Patti.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy, of Ft. Atkinson, Wis.,
formerly of Ramsey; wife; son, Shannon White and his wife Imke of
Woodbridge, Va.; stepdaughter, Misty and her husband Trace Ulmer of
Vandalia; stepson, Christopher Hedgpeth and his wife Raeann of
Vandalia; sisters, Connie and her husband Marlin Hartwig of Ft.
Atkinson, Wis., Sandra White of Cherokee, N.C., and Dana and her
husband Pat Dietschweiler of Ft. Atkinson, Wis.; brother, Don White
and his wife Janet of Black Mountain, N.C.; grandchildren, Logan
and Odessa White; and stepgrandchildren, Levi Ulmer, Courtney
Ulmer, Zane Ulmer, Landon Ulmer, Jessica Sullens, Emily Hedgpeth,
Logan Sullens and Lora Hedgpeth.
He was preceded in death by his father.
