Darlene Denning's Obituary
Darlene May Denning, 88, of Vandalia passed away at 2:05am,
Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Fayette County Hospital.
A memorial service for Mrs. Denning will be held at a later
date. Memorials may be made to Vandalia Rehab &
Healthcare Center Activity Fund or Fayette County Relay for
Life. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia is in charge
of arrangements.
Darlene was born May 12, 1926 in Lomax, IL, the daughter of
Marion and Clarice (Johnson) Eckhardt. She married
Dwight L. Denning on June 4, 1944; together they farmed and raised
two sons. She was affiliated with Luster Chapel in rural
Vandalia.
Darlene is survived by her husband Dwight Denning of Vandalia;
sons David Denning and wife Sue of Vandalia and Howard Denning and
wife May of Vandalia; sister Helen Gordon of Vandalia; and
grandsons Nathaniel Denning and wife Michelle of Vandalia and Jon
Denning of Pontoon Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Carl,
Kenny, and William Eckhardt.
