David Blankenship's Obituary
David E. Blankenship, 65, of Vandalia, IL passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Willow Breeze Hospice House in Mattoon.
Per David’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services at this time. Interment will take place in Bethlehem Cemetery, rural Vandalia, at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
David Earl Blankenship was born on September 18, 1959 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Dale Edward and Patricia Geraldine (Willis) Blankenship. David proudly served in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked for several years at Owen’s Brockway/Graham Packaging Co. In his free time, David enjoyed outdoor activities and fishing.
Mr. Blankenship is survived by his parents, Dale and Patricia Blankenship of Vandalia; sister, Debra Carroll of Vandalia; two nephews; a niece; extended family and friends.
