When I moved to Vandalia in 1977 to begin my teaching career, David always had a friendly "Hello" and warm smile when I was out and about in town and our paths crossed. His friendliness made me feel welcome! I still live in Vandalia and will always remember his kind demeanor...an example for all of us to follow!
