David "Sadie" Brown's Obituary
David Jarret "Sadie" Brown peacefully went to sleep on Monday,
June 11, 2012.  He was born July 5, 1925 to Charles O. "Doc"
and Alice G. (Jarret) Brown; he later married Eileen May Cross
August 25, 1946 in Vandalia.  Mr. Brown served in the US Navy
during WWII, and was a member of the Vandalia VFW Post #3862,
Vandalia American Legion Post # 95, and Vandalia Moose Lodge
#1447.
He lived life to the fullest and his motto was never give up and
you can do whatever you want to do as long as you put your mind to
it.  David persevered numerous challenges in his lifetime and
never gave up once.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, son Charles "Charlie"
Brown and wife Lynn; daughters Andrea "Andy" and husband Lawrence
"Gene" Hudson and Tanna Brown and special friend Jerry Wall; 9
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister Vivian Perry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, June 15, 2012
at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia.  A visitation
will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the funeral
home.  Memorials may be made to Honor Flight or Shriner's
Hospital for Children.
