Debra Kae Kissiar, 68, of Vandalia, IL, passed away October 06, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a private inurnment will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Debra Kae Lash was born January 12, 1956, in Vandalia, the daughter of Emory Mason and Goldie Bell (Manion) Lash. She married Bobby D. Kissiar on her birthday, January 12, 1972; together Bobby and Debra shared 52 years of marriage and raised two sons.
Debra was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest son started school; she cooked for the Agape Christian school in Vandalia, worked at Fayette County Hospital in dietary, and retired as Manager from Dollar General.
Crocheting and crafting with her granddaughters and sister-in-law, Loretta, were Deb’s favorite past time. She would often gather items from around the house to make something new. She encouraged her grandchildren to be creative and use their imaginations.
Mrs. Kissiar is survived by her husband, Bobby Dale Kissiar; sons, Ferrell Mason Kissiar and Robert Dale Kissiar and wife Allyshae; brother, Robert Lash and wife Ann all of Vandalia; grandchildren, Zayne, Bradley, Joseph, and Nicholas Kissiar, Addysin, Zoey, Annabelle, and Maekenzie Kissiar; great-grandsons, Wesley and Memphis Kissiar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sons, Bobby Scott Kissiar and Bradley Scott Kissiar; siblings, Mason Lash Jr. and wife Patty, Lonnie Lash and wife Nelda, Garry Lash and wife Loretta.
