Delores Mae Hunter, 90, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 02, 2022 at SBL Fayette County Hospital.
Per Delores’ wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with no public service. A private burial will take place at Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church; where she was a member. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Delores Mae Michel was born on May 03, 1932 in Bond County, IL, the daughter of Earl and Arlean (Carter) Michel. She married Johnnie L. Hunter on April 12, 1952 in Pana, IL; together they celebrated nearly 25 years of marriage before his passing on January 10, 1977.
Delores retired from Owen’s Brockway, where she was a packer/operator for several years. She loved crafting, mowing, gardening, and camping; anything that kept her active and busy.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by her sons, Michael L. Hunter of Vandalia and Patrick O. Hunter of Moweaqua; step-son, Ronald D. Hunter and wife Vicky of Macon; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-son, Robert Hunter; brother, Harold J. Michel; and sister, Alice A. McCray.
