Diana L. Caswell, 77, of Vandalia, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family.
Per Diana’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A Graveside Service & Interment will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Diana Lee Jackson was born on May 25, 1948, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Thomas Andrew and Mary Francis (Dawes) Jackson. She married Jerry Grable Caswell on February 18, 1966, and they had four children. Their marriage lasted nearly 27 years until his passing on January 19, 1993.
Diana was a licensed practical nurse, working at various facilities throughout her career. She was known for her gentle, caring, and quiet demeanor. Her hobbies included playing slots and poker, fishing, reading, embroidering, and dining out. Above all, she cherished spending quality time with her family, who brought her the greatest happiness.
She will forever be remembered by her daughter, Mary and husband Mike Warner of Vandalia; son, Jerry Caswell Jr. of Vandalia; sister, Beverly and husband Rick Mobley of Lexington, KY; brother, Mike Jackson of Vandalia; grandchildren, Michael Warner and wife Misty, Amanda Warner, James Eubank with Alex Carbonaro, Johnathan Cross, Jesse Cross, Andrina Chismen, Scotty Medlin, Richard Medlin, and Tucker Medlin; great-grandchildren, Emma, Addy, Presley, Kalliope, Jaina, Dominique, Kelsey, and Kayleigh; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughters, Teresa Medlin and Jessica Cross; and a sister, Wanda Neathery.
