Dolores Michel's Obituary
Dolores A. Michel, 81, of Vandalia, died at 9:40 a.m. on Friday,
April 5, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in
Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Cross
Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with Pastor Jerry Bagwell officiating.
Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be
held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and one hour before services on
Tuesday, both at the church. Memorials: American Legion
Avenue of Flags, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Jude
Children's Research Hospitalor donor's choice.
Mrs. Meseke was born on Sept. 8, 1931, in Alma, the daughter of
Edwin and Elenora Meseke Oertwig. She married Harry Michel on June
25, 1950, in Shobonier.
She was a retired cook at Vandalia Junior High School, was a member
of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Crawford-Hale American Legion
Unit 95 Auxiliary, and was an active volunteer at her church.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Susan and her husband
Kenny Moeller of Dexter, Mo.; brother, Floyd Oertwig and his wife
Donna of St. Peter; sister, Elvera and her husband Don Sidwell of
Shobonier; grandchildren, Kevin Moeller and his wife Lendsay of
Jacksonville, Fla., and Elizabeth and her husband Gregg Hayes of
Richland, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Braden Moeller and
Chandler Moeller of Jacksonville, Fla., and Christine Hayes of
Richlands, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Michel;
and a brother, Wayne Oertwig.
