Donald Hall's Obituary
Donald F. Hall, 89, of Shobonier, IL, died Friday, December, 30,
2011 at Friendship Manor of St. Elmo, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 4,
2012 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Rev. Joe
Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery,
Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Tuesday,
January 3, 2012 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL and
1 hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Friendship Manor of St. Elmo.
Mr. Hall was born August 29, 1922, in St. Louis, MO, to Charles
Hall and Maudie (Jacobs) Hall. He married Norma Carson May
11, 1946 in Vandalia, IL.
Mr. Hall was a truck driver for Vandalia Transfer and a member
of American Legion Post # 95, Vandalia, IL. Mr. Hall was a Master
Sgt. in the United States Army, fought during World War
II, and had completed 20 years in the Army reserves.
He is survived by his wife Norma, son Dan Hall of Shobonier,
grandchildren Shawn Hall, TJ Hall and special friend Allison, and
Annette and husband Steve McClintock, great grandchildren Hayden
Hall and Bradyn McClintock, step great grandchildren Mackenzie and
Jake McClintock, brothers Kenneth Hall and wife Pat of Tampico, IL,
Larry Hall and special friend Rosie, Florida. Mr. Hall was preceded
in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
