Donald Lotz's Obituary
Donald Keith Lotz, 65, of Vandalia passed away at 1:32am,
Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home in Vandalia.
Services for Donald will be held at 11:00am, Monday, January 13,
2014 at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Douglas Meyer
officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-11am, Monday,
January 13, 2014 at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to Vandalia Field of Dreams or Fayette County
Health Department. Per Donald's wishes his body will be
cremated after services are concluded Monday. Burial will be
held at a later date.
Donald was born November 4, 1948 in Vandalia, the son of Carl
and Ella (Knecht) Lotz. He married Janine Schnarre August 29,
1970 in Augsburg. Don worked for Crane Packaging in the
accounting and purchasing department and retired after 36 years he
then retired from Fayette County Health Department after 8 years
working as a billing specialist. He was a member of Augsburg
Immanuel Lutheran Church and served in the United States Army
National Guard.
Don is survived by his wife Janine of Vandalia; son John Lotz
and wife Monique of Vandalia; daughters Kim and husband Rich Well
of Vandalia and Kelly Brehm of Chatham; brother Robert Lotz of
Shobonier; grandchildren Taylor Well, Richie Well, Reid Well, Kelly
Jones, Zach Schaal, Peyton Brehm, Johnathan Lotz, Jaydon Lotz, and
Carson Lotz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
