Donald B. Sams Sr. passed away at 11:44am, Saturday, August 13,
2016 at his home at Brookstone Estates, Vandalia.
Burial will be held at a later date inCamp Butler Nation

Donald was born October 30, 1922 in Springfield, IL the son of
Foster and Leta (Longest) Sams. Donald married Alicia
Mahosky, she preceded in death on October 27, 1996. Donald
was employed by the General Telephone Company now know as Verizon;
he served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of
American Legion Post #90, VFW Post #5975, and Moose Lodge in
Marshall, IL.
He is survived by his son Donald Sams Jr. and wife Diane of
Vandalia and brother Thomas Sams of Bloomington. He was
preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Britton Sams, and
nine siblings.
