Doris Brule's Obituary
Doris J. Brule, 82, of Vandalia passed away at 7:03pm, Tuesday,
August 4, 2015 at her home in Vandalia.
A memorial service for Mrs. Brule will be held at 10:30am,
August 12, 2015 at Crown Point Church, rural Vandalia with Rev.
Pete LeDuc officiating. Memorials may be made to Robert
Brule, Crown Point or Fayette Co Hospice.
Doris was born February 23, 1933, the daughter of Clarence
"Babe" and Eva (Koonce) Grubaugh.
She married Robert Brule on March 3, 1951 in Randolph Co.
Arkansas; they were lifelong sweethearts of 64 years. She
worked as a supervisor at the PN Hirsch Warehouse in Vandalia and
was a member of Crown Point Church, where she played the piano and
organ on Sunday mornings. She also enjoyed cooking and
playing her accordion.
She is survived by her husband Robert, brother Larry Grubaugh,
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald
Grubaugh, sisters Elrena Rathbone, Josephine Adams, and Lucille
Ray.
