Dr. Donald H. Rames, 84, of Vandalia, passed away at 7:00 am, Friday, September 14, 2012 at his home in Vandalia, IL. A memorial services for Dr. Rames will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at First United Meth Read Obituary
We were saddened to hear of the death of our family doctor and friend. Doc had a great bedside manner, and truly cared for his patients and their families. He would always ask about our boys and enjoyed our stories. He was a great doctor, proud of and loved his family, and took the time to be involved in the commumity. Our sympathy goes out to his family.
Dr. Rames was an ordinary man who inspired ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary tasks.
When he served as Medical Director at Fayette County Hospital he attended the Fayette County Hospital District Board meetings and delivered a report each month on the business meetings of the physicians at the hospital.
His great sense of humor, easy smile and kind words were sincere and meaningful.
My condolances to his family.
Dr. Rames, was my Dr. as well as our entire family Dr. for my years living in Vandalia. I sincerely regret hearing about his death. He was a wonderful person and Dr. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
