Effie Ann Volberg's Obituary
Effie A. Volberg, 82, of Pocahontas, IL passed away at 8:40 AM, Wednesday, March 06, 2024 at Breese Nursing Home.
A Private Graveside Service & Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Pastor Krista Stokke officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Barnes Jewish Kidney Transplant Center. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Effie Ann Wefer was born on February 14, 1942 in Gary, IN, the daughter of Walter F. and Ruby K. (Lamborn) Wefer. She married the love of her life, Harry A. Volberg, on June 12, 1960. Together they celebrated nearly 64 wonderful years of marriage.
Effie was a homemaker, raising her two daughters along with her husband, as well as a floral designer for 10+ years. She enjoyed anything outdoors, especially gardening. Effie also had an avid love for genealogy and crafting. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Jamestown, IL.
Mrs. Volberg is survived by her husband, Harry Volberg of Pocahontas; daughter, Barbara Volberg of Highland; daughter, Sheri Maddox and husband Tony of O’Fallon, MO; and grandchildren, Shelby Maddox and Cameron Maddox, both of O’Fallon, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Frederick Wefer.
