Eileen Brown's Obituary
Eileen May Brown, 84, (nee Cross) peacefully went to heaven on
December 18, 2012 to rejoin the love of her life, David.
Services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, December 21, 2012 at
Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson
officiating; visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service at
funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery,
Vandalia, IL. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for
Children or Vandalia Lions Club.
Eileen was a very courageous and brave young woman of 18 when
she boarded the Queen Elizabeth Cruise Ship across the Atlantic
Ocean from Plymouth England to marry David.
She was born May 7, 1928 in Plymouth England, daughter of
Charles and Alice (nee Roberts) Cross, she was one of eight
children. She married David J. Brown, August 25, 1946; he
passed away June 11, 2012.
Eileen is survived by her son Charles "Chuck" (Lynn) Brown;
daughters Tanna Brown (Jerry Wall) and Andrea "Andy" (Gene) Hudson;
1 sister; 2 brothers; grandchildren Stephanie Carter (Kurt Allan),
Chris (Heather)Wall, Amy Jo (Barry) Lenderman, Mary Alice (Tim)
Smith, Brandi (David) Bolyard, Leslie (Jennifer) Otto, Brian
Hudson, Andrew Hudson, and Matthew Hudson; great grandchildren Chad
Michael Brown, Jessie Willis, Jacob Willis, Courtney Wall, Amber
Butler, Kourtney Bolyard, Samantha Smith, Lane Austin, Hailey
Lenderman, Nathan Smith, and Kloey Otto.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers
and 2 sisters.
