Ellen Black's Obituary
Ellen L. Black, 87, of Vandalia, passed away at her home at 7:00
pm, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at her home in Vandalia.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:30am,
Wednesday, January 2015 at Evans Cemetery, rural Vandalia. 
Visitation and celebration will be held from 10:00-11:00am,
Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home,
Vandalia.   Memorials may be made to the family of Ellen
Black. 
Ellen was born April 14, 1927 in Vandalia, the daughter of
George S. and Ellen R. (Hoffman) Yenny.  She married Edward E.
Black on December 27, 1958, he preceded her in death December 27,
1992.
Ellen taught for Vandalia Elementary School for 35 years, she
was a member of the Church of Christ in Vandalia and the Retired
Teachers Association.
She is survived by her son Edward C. Black of Brownstown, sister
Christine Yenny of Vandalia, granddaughter Rebecca Black and her
children of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother
Russell Yenny, and sister Della Mae Yenny.
