Floyd McCain's Obituary
Floyd L. McCain, 77, of Vandalia, passed away at 5:20am,
Wednesday, May 06, 2015 at Fayette County Hospital.
Services for Mr. McCain will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, May 8,
2015 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Pete
LeDuc officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to
services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to
the donor's choice.
Floyd was born July 6, 1937 in rural Vandalia, the son of
Clayton and Mary (Boaz) McCain. He married Carolyn J. Hoffman
October 15, 1955 in a double ceremony along with his brother Donald
and Carolyn's sister Janet. Floyd worked and retired as a
machinist for Caterpillar and was a member of the UAW (United
Automobile Workers Union).
He is survived by his wife Carolyn of Vandalia; daughters Sandra
Shockey of Colorado Springs, CO and Mary Ann and husband
Christopher Wiley of Decatur; seven grandchildren and several great
grandchildren; and brothers Donald McCain and wife Janet of
Vandalia, IL, Kenneth McCain and wife Beverly of St. Charles, MO,
and Morris McCain and wife Marjorie of Decatur, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
