Frank Peter Durschmid, 88, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 9:15 PM, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Services will be held at a later date with interment following in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Memorials may be made to Evans Public Library, Vandalia.
Frank Peter Durschmid was born June 05, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the son of Frank and Eva (Baier) Durschmid. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Army National Guard. Frank was a retired supervisor for Crane Packing in Vandalia. He was also a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #4360. Frank was an avid book reader, enjoyed playing chess, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Howard) Maskill of Riverside, IL and Josephine (John) Mullane of Naperville, IL; sister-in-law, June Durschmid; Nieces and Nephews, Leslie (David) Walters, Michael Durschmid, Mark Durschmid, Margaret (Eric) Amlie, Daniel (Terry) Maskill, Diane Maskill, Joseph Mullane, Theresa (Gerald) Cremering, Patricia (David) Ricchiuto, and Timothy (Karen) Mullane.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Durschmid; and nephew, David Maskill.
