Dave Sessions' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George David “Dave” Sessions, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, and friend. George David Sessions, 68, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026 at SBL Fayette County Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Per Dave’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held from 11:00AM-1:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue or to the Fayette County Cancer Fund. George David Sessions was born on December 21, 1957, in Vandalia, Illinois, to Stanley George and Lillie Ann (Mudd) Sessions. He shared nearly 30 years with his significant other, Nancy Cripe. He dedicated many years to GSI/AGCO Corp where he served in a variety of roles before retiring.
Dave was a man of simple pleasures; he was known for his humor and playful nature. He was a lifelong fan of The Rolling Stones. He found great joy in their music often turning up their songs, morphing himself into Mick Jagger and sharing that love with family and friends. He found peace outdoors, enjoying nature, and spending time with his beloved dog, Max. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Cripe of Vandalia; daughter, Jade Sessions with Shawn Hayes of Chula Vista, CA; daughter, Jasmine and husband Nick Holstein of Vandalia; son, Gregory “Dylan” Sessions of Encinitas, CA; step-daughter, Megan Duff of Belleville; brother, Robert Sessions and wife Linda of Long Beach, MS; sister, Joyce McClary of Vandalia; sister, Judy and husband Tony Kimbro of Vandalia; grandchildren, Carson Hayes, Collin Hayes, Cami Hayes, Ashlynn Holstein, Grayson Sessions; step-grandchildren, Keighley Duff and Karter Duff; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers, Jim Walker and Bill Walker.
