George William Washburn III, 63, of Vandalia, IL passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Terry Denton officiating. Interment will follow in McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots.
George William Washburn III was born on May 02, 1956 in Vandalia, IL, the son of George William Washburn II and Madge Lucille (St Pierre) Washburn. He married Lenier Ann Davison on January 03, 1981; together, they celebrated 38 years of marriage. George retired from South Central F.S. as a custom applicator. He was a retired member of the Mad Dogs Motorcycle Club and enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, and drinking beer.
He is survived by his wife Lenier Washburn; sons, George William “Bill” Washburn IV and Bryan Washburn and girlfriend Madeline Hoke; daughter, Shayla Washburn and fiancé Skyler Henson; all of Vandalia; sisters, Joyce Wise of Mulberry Grove and Janet and husband Howard Belcher of Vandalia; and grandchildren, Brittany and husband Clay McNary, Dane Washburn, Desirae Henson, Jayden Henson, and Skyler Henson Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
