Gilbert "Gib" McMillan's Obituary
Gilbert L. "Gib" McMillan passed away November 2, 2016 at Barnes
Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Per Gib's wishes his body will be cremated, no services are
scheduled at this time. Donations in Gib's memory may be made to
the Fayette County Cancer Fund or Shriner's Hospital's for
Children.
Gib was born August 19, 1935, the son of Robert G. McMillan and
Margaret (Hornbeck) German. He married Mary A. Mitchell on
September 11, 1956 in Vandalia; she preceded him in death on
November 12, 2008.
Gib was a retired electrician for Crane Packing in
Vandalia. He was a Hot Rod enthusiast, and enjoyed meeting
with friends to talk cars.
He is survived by his son Tim McMillan and wife Stacy of
Brownstown, grandchildren Erin Hines-Sash and husband Steve,
Caitlin Reinhold and husband Adam, and Kyle Batson, nieces, nephews
and brother and sister in laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert McMillan and
Margaret and Harry German, wife Mary McMillan, brother Robert
McMillan, sister Betty Jones, granddaughter Amber McMillan.
