Grace Sahr's Obituary
Grace Ellen Sahr, 65, of Vandalia passed away at 6:25pm, Sunday,
August 2, 2015 at the Edwardsville Nursing & Rehab Center.
Services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at
Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, with Rev. Robert Weaver
officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at
the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery,
Vandalia. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen
Foundation or American Cancer Society.
Grace was born December 13, 1949 in Edinburg, TX, the daughter
of Lester and Margaret (Shives) Lookingbill. She worked various
jobs over the years, from babysitting to running a register at gas
station to working at Wal-Mart. She loved religion, and enjoyed
attending different churches in the area, most recently the First
Assembly of God in St. Elmo.
Grace is survived by her sons John Sahr of Moweaqua and Robert
Sahr of Vandalia; daughter AJ Skippers of Collinsville, grandson
Joseph Dellamano of Collinsville; and brother Gary Lookingbill of
New Ulm, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Buddy and
Joe, sisters Bernice and Dora Jean "Tiny".
