Harry A. Volberg, 85, of Pocahontas, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at his home.
A Private Graveside Service & Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Pastor Krista Stokke officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Barnes Jewish Kidney Transplant Center. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
Harry Ahl Volberg was born on August 06, 1939 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Harry H. and Esther (Ahl) Volberg. He married the love of his life, Effie Ann Wefer, on June 12, 1960. Together they had two daughters and celebrated nearly 64 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on March 06, 2024.
Harry was in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 26 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Freemason Masonic Lodge, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447, Highland V.F.W. Post #5694, and the Highland Pistol and Rifle Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Volberg of Highland; daughter, Sheri Maddox and husband Tony of St. Charles, MO; and two grandchildren, Shelby Maddox and Cameron Maddox.
Mr. Volberg was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Cecelia Daniels.
