Harvey Charles Meseke, 75, of Shobonier, IL, passed away at 12:40 AM, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shobonier with Pastor Josh Frazee officiating. Interment will follow at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Shobonier. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00-11:00 AM, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the Family of Harvey Meseke.
Harvey Charles Meseke was born on December 31, 1943 in Shobonier, IL, the son of Filbert and Dorothy (Gehle) Meseke. He married Alice Irene Durbin on October 26, 1963; together they shared 55 years of marriage and raised four children. Harvey was a farmer and was also employed by Bluff Equipment Inc., Vandalia for 44 years. He was an outdoorsman and had an avid love for hunting, fishing, and trapping. Harvey was a member of Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Meseke of Shobonier; daughters, Sandra Kleinik of Vandalia, Rhonda and husband Dan McCaslin of Shobonier, and Lisa and husband Lee Smith of Vandalia; son, Wade Meseke and wife Loretta of Shobonier; grandchildren, Shanna, Jacob, Heather, Krystal, Rachel, Erin, Shelby, Renee, Alex, Waylin, Zach, Logan, and Kylee; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Truitt of Shobonier and Jody and husband Terry Osborne of Vandalia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patsy Coughlin.
