Helen M. Bolyard, 82, of Brownstown, IL, passed away at 3:25 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 28, 2022 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Interment will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home. Helen Mae Porter was born on December 06, 1939, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of James and Emma (Horn) Porter. She married Dale Wesley Bolyard on March 29, 1957; with this union they celebrated 53 years of marriage and had four children. He preceded in death on September 22, 2010. Helen was a homemaker; raising her three sons. She loved gardening and keeping things tidy around the home.
Mrs. Bolyard is survived by her sons, Terry Bolyard, Darrell Bolyard, and Michael Bolyard, all of Brownstown; sisters, Alice Davison of Vandalia and Shirley Bean of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Diana; sisters, Gertrude Vincent and Beulah Jarrett; brothers, John Porter, Wilbert Porter, and Russel Porter.
