Howard Goodin's Obituary
Howard Ezekiel Goodin, 84, of Mulberry Grove passed away at
5:20pm, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. John's Hospital Springfield,
IL.
Services for Mr. Goodin will be held at 10:00am, Monday, July
29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Mulberry Grove, Mulberry
Grove, IL with Pastor Benjamin Potter officiating.
Burial will follow in Noffsinger Cemetery, Mulberry Grove,
IL. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Sunday, July 28,
2013 at the First Baptist Church of Mulberry Grove, Mulberry Grove,
IL and 1 hour prior to services at the church Monday.
Howard was born January 8, 1929 in Mulberry Grove, the son of
Charles Edward and Mae (Edwards) Goodin. He married Nelda
Fern Wells on December 1, 1951 in Piggott, AR and together they had
5 children. She preceded him in death on April 24,
2011. Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Mulberry Grove and had worked for John Crane Packing in
Vandalia. He loved woodworking, hunting, the outdoors, and
most of all he loved to pester his grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Mr. Goodin is survived by his sons Larry Goodin and wife Karol
of Mulberry Grove, Randy Lee Goodin and wife Sharon of Altamont,
and Dennis Goodin and wife Bonnie of Vandalia; daughters Debra
Cearlock of Vandalia and Linda and husband Dennis Pyle of
Dyersburg, TN; sister LuluBelle Lutz of Mulberry Grove; 15
Grandchildren and 17 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Charles
Goodin Jr. and Harry Goodin, sister Graccie Goodin Smith, and
son-in-law David Cearlock.
