Ilene Rose's Obituary
Doris "Ilene" O'Dell Rose, 82, of Vandalia, died at her home
April 27, 2012 after a short battle with Leukemia. 
A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2012
at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, with grandsons Jared
Miller and Jason Snow officiating, visitation will be held from 3-4
PM Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home. 
Burial will follow at Alma Cemetery, Alma, IL.  Memorials may
be made to Lincoln Land Hospice.
Ilene was born January 28, 1930 in Loogootee, the daughter of
Nelson and Evelyn O'Dell of Vandalia.  She grew up in the
Loogootee area, moving to Vandalia in her 7th grade
school year.  She graduated from Vandalia High School in
1949.  Ilene worked several years at Higgins Cleaners, the
Vulcan Heel Factory and Crane Packing Co. for 22 years.  She
was affiliated with Temple Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicky (Perkins) Snow and
husband Don of Jacksonville, IL and Christy (Perkins) Davis and
husband Dennis of Huffman, TX; grandchildren Shari (Snow) Ballard
and husband Mark, Shelley Snow, Jason Snow and wife Naomi, Jared
Miller and wife Courtney, Paige Miller, and Caleb Egelston; 6 great
grandchildren; brother Bud O'Dell of Knoxville, TN, sisters Jerri
Hadley of Ramsey, IL and Betty Hill of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by parents, son Mark Egelston, sisters
Mildred Stein, Ruby Sieben, and Gladys Phillips.
Even though her life had many trials, her faith in her Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ never wavered.   She was very proud
of her children and grandchildren that they also were strong in
their faith.  Her two daughters are both church musicians, two
grandsons are ministers and one granddaughter is a church pianist
and soloist.
