Jackie L. “Jack” Jones, 77, of Taylorville, IL, passed away Monday, March 03, 2025 at his home.
Per Jack’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Graveside Service & Interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 10, 2025 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Jackie Lee Jones was born on November 07, 1947 in Salem, IL, the son of Lester Stanley and Lila Loreen (Osborn) Jones. He married Sheila Lou (Gregory) on May 15, 1976. Together, they celebrated 48 years of marriage and shared six children.
Jack was a union painter and member of the Painters Local # 90 in Springfield, IL; retiring after 30+ years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, lending out a helping hand to others, and most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He will forever be remembered by his wife, Sheila Jones of Taylorville; sons, Lee Jones and wife Crystal of Vandalia, Michael Jones of Champaign, and Scott Jones of Kinkead; daughter, Jacki Jones of Champaign; step-son, E.J. Paintiff and wife Sarah of Smith Grove, KY; step-daughter, Shawn Paintiff with Shane Henson of Smith Grove, KY; grandchildren, Nicki and husband Lance Stewart, Jayden Jones, Jarrett Jones, Dylan Jones, Jourdan Jones, Codie Hesse and wife Chelsea, Morganne and husband Blake Test, Shayla and husband Josiah Johnson, Mitchell Jones, and Brady Jones; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Isabella, Oaklee, Neema, Porter, Zoey, Gryder, Brynlee, Baylor, Blakeley, and Breck.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Wayne Jones and Dale Jones.
