Jackie Warner's Obituary
Jackie Allen Warner, 81, of Vera, rural Vandalia, IL passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post # 95, Vandalia, IL & Brownstown VFW Post #9770. Memorials may be made donor’s choice.
Jackie Allen Warner was born January 16, 1940, in Vandalia, the son of Jackson A. and Iva May (Davis) Warner. He married Mary Carolyn Koonce on October 17, 1959; together they shared 61 years of marriage. Jackie was a boilermaker for the Boilermakers Local 363 out of Belleville, IL. He served in the US Army from 1963-1965. Jackie loved to work on old cars, and was a member of Chapter U Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He was also a member of the Brownstown VFW Post # 9770, Crawford-Hale American Legion Post # 95, and
former member of Vandalia VFW Post #3862 and Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Warner of Vera; son, Johnnie Warner of Vandalia; brothers, Richard Warner and wife Debbie, and Tommy Warner; sisters, Betty Lou Tipton and Theresa Ellis; grandchildren, Keri Warner, Taylynn Buckley, Hayden Buckley; and great grandchildren, Mallory Hoenig and Brantley Warner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, David, and Johnnie Warner; and sisters, Beulah Keppler and Daisy Oary.
